Middleware Administrator (IBM WebSphere MQ)

Job Overview:

On behalf of one of our best clients, we are on the lookout for a
Middleware Administrator who shall carry out the following:

 * Provide 24/7 and (when necessary) weekend support for systems
involved in the architecture.
 * Install, upgrade, and patch MQ environments on MQ on Windows,
Solaris, Linux and AIX.
 * Create MQ objects, administer and perform support duties on
Windows, Solaris, Linux, AIX
 * Install and configure MQ on Microsoft Clustering and perform
failover testing to the secondary node.
 * Design and implement custom MQ security solutions using BlockIP.
 * Design MQ configuration backup and restore solutions for the MQ
infrastructure.
 * Install and configure MQ TrueSight Middleware Monitoring
infrastructure (Qpasa). Design TrueSight monitoring Templates, Rules
and Dashboards.
 * Design, Install, configure, and administer Websphere Application
Servers (ND) environments.
 * Perform deployment, administration and production support on
heterogeneous systems like AIX, Linux and Windows environments with
different versions of WebSphere Application Server.
 * Create and configure profiles, clusters, nodes, for WebSphere
Application Server.
 * Perform tuning, security, backup, recovery and upgrades of
WebSphere Application Server on IBM AIX, Linux and Windows platforms.
 * Configure WebSphere Recourses like JDBC Providers and JMS
Providers. Implement Global Security, SSL and LDAP.
 * Design, Install, configure, and administer Tomcat environments.
 * Lend development, tuning & optimization expertise to application
development and support teams on an ad-hoc or continual basis.
 * Identify operational and infrastructure risks within the
environment and work with the application development teams and
business users to make corrections and mitigate risks.
 * Ensure optimal resilience of deployed systems and meet all disaster
recovery and compliance requirements dictated by the business.
 * Interface with external vendors in troubleshooting complex,
cross-platform issues.

Job Requirements:

 * 8 years of experience in a role related to Middleware
administration
 * 5 years of experience with the IBM WebSphere MQ Middleware tool
 * Knowledge of TomCat
 * BASH and/or Ansible scripting
 * Have participated in the installation, administration, updating,
support, monitoring, and optimization of IBM WebSphere MQ on Windows,
Solaris, Linux, AIX
