Job Description

The IT Project Manager specializing in High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing complex projects related to Mila's HPC infrastructure. He/She will liaise between technical teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery on time, on budget, and according to established specifications.

Main Responsibilities

• Define the scope, objectives, and deliverables of HPC projects in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop and manage project plans, including schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate the activities of technical teams on projects.
• Ensure regular communication with stakeholders to keep them informed of project progress, risks, and potential issues.
• Identify and manage project risks, implementing appropriate mitigation plans.
• Monitor and control the project budget and expenditures.
• Manage project documentation, including plans, status reports, and more. and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with project management and HPC standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in IT project management, preferably in the field of high-performance computing systems.
• Extensive knowledge of HPC architectures, storage technologies, and high-speed networks.
• Proficiency with Confluence project management tools.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Be bilingual (in French and English), due to the interactions you will have in the course of your employment with some of our partners, stakeholders, or members of our academic community. English-speaking.

Desirable Skills

• PMP certification or equivalent.
• Experience with Linux operating systems and distributed computing environments.
• Knowledge of HPC performance monitoring and management tools.
