We are looking for a Business Analyst who is motivated to join one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers!  In this role you will be responsible for report production/analysis, capacity planning, SQL and database management as well as project management and knowledge sharing.

Your Job

Our ideal candidate is an analytical problem solver that has experience within a professional, data-driven environment in the form of performance metrics, identification of trends and generation of forecasts.

Report Production and Analysis:

Scorecards

  • Produce the balanced scorecards on a monthly basis for the Underwriting teams
  • Actively identify ways to improve and automate generated reports and make any required adjustments to the reports
  • Review actual results compared to normal trends and identify gaps and errors
  • Provide feedback and solutions

Net Promoter Scores

  • Understand the information and bring recommendations

Adhoc Analysis

  • Gathers analysis requirements
  • Conducts pilot projects and adhoc analysis
  • Provides feedback and recommendations on results; highlighting successes and improvement areas

Capacity Planning:

  • Assist with planning updates for the Underwriting and Quality departments
  • Identify changes in trends and highlight potential causes
  • Bring recommendations for result improvement with team
  • Support with the budget process with historical data collection

SQL & Database Management:

  • Update database hierarchy for the respective departments overseen by the team
  • Run regular audits to ensure data integrity is maintained
  • Ensure our databases are working properly
  • Develop and adjust existing SQL queries when needed
  • Bring recommendations regarding code improvement

Project Management and National Initiatives:

  • Support with data collection and business requirements
  • Assist with ongoing projects
  • Suggest initiatives that will reduce our overall expense ratio

Knowledge Sharing:

  • Support the WFM analysts with SQL queries or other needs

Your Skills

  • Canadian accredited university degree including Business/Administration/Engineering
  • Bilinguism (English/French) is an asset
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Experience with SQL and database management (MS Access and Oracle)
  • Adaptable to an ever-changing and fast-paced environment
