With pan-Canadian activities and a presence in the U.S., the Group is an important player in numerous market segments.This role sits within LBC Tech, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.Reporting to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Data Warehouse, the incumbent is responsible for the backend components of the bank's Enterprise Data Warehouse, including, but not limited to; all EDW databases and data marts, Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes, production release management, infrastructure security, integrity and maintenance, as well as all recurring and ad-hoc regulatory data extractions. He or she will also participate in the analysis, development and implementation of core EDW solutions needed for bank initiatives The current core EDW components are based in Oracle, Microsoft and IBM technology, and include Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB), SQL Server and IBM Data Manager, but additional technologies may be incorporated in the future, including, but not limited to; Informatica, or other ETL applications.
ºAct as a liaison between the internal IT and business stakeholders and the Enterprise Data Warehouse Team for all matters related to the backend EDW componentsºReview requests for EDW solutions as required (including Data Extracts, ETL, data marts, and infrastructure changes) and assist the EDW Team Lead in estimating the work effort needed build, test and deploy the solutionsºDevelop and maintains conceptual, physical and logical data models for the Data WarehouseºAnalyze, design, and document both high-level and detailed specifications for EDW solutionsºDevelop, test and deploy EDW solutions ºAssist in supporting daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc EDW loadingºAssist in troubleshooting EDW issuesºProvide input on data warehouse infrastructure, including sizing and optimal configurations ºAssist EDW DBAs and EDW Team Lead with EDW database tuning and partitioning as requiredºExecute service improvement plans for the EDW infrastructure to ensure current technology stack supports required services ºEnsure rigorous monitoring of development activities and solutions to ensure compliance with set deadlines and budgets. ºHelp support BI production activities when requiredºEstablish and maintain effective communication with stakeholders and partners of the team and business lines. ºKeep updated on all existing and future Enterprise Data Warehouse structures, end-to-end processes and core technologies ºPerform all tasks of a similar or general nature requested by his or her superior or required for the job.
ºUniversity degree or College diploma in Computer Science, Business Intelligence or related field and minimum 8 - 10 yrs of relevant experienceºIn-depth knowledge and experience working with an Enterprise Data Warehouse ºIn-depth knowledge and experience working with dimensional data modelsºIn-depth knowledge and experience in Release management and working with multiple Data warehouse environmentsºIn-depth knowledge and experience in PL-SQL and working with Data Extract/Transform/Load technology (preferably in Oracle Warehouse Builder or other industry standard ETL tools)ºIn-depth knowledge and experience in data modelling using ERWIN, or other modelling toolsºAdvanced knowledge and experience in Oracle database partitioning database tuning.ºExperience with data sources on varied platforms such as OLTP transactional information systems, Mainframe; AS400 and windows serverºExperience in SQL (Oracle, MySQL, MSSQL), Perl, Java, Windows scripting and performance tuning ºExperienced in SDLC for Data Warehouse Projects is as assetºExcellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.ºMust possess strategic thinking, analytical, organizational, and planning skills.ºAbility to identify and manage numerous shifting priorities, deadlines and resource issues to achieve results.ºBilingual (French/English) is an asset.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS ºKnowledge and experience working with IBM Data Manager would be an assetºKnowledge and experience working with IBM Cognos Metric Studio would be an assetºKnowledge and experience working with Data Profiling tools would be an assetºKnowledge and experience with SAS, and predictive modelling tools would be an asset ºKnowledge of the banking industry, would be an asset
