Under the authority of the immediate superior, the incumbent carries out the technology watch related to his business area of ​​IT project management and identifies how to bring added value to the City of Laval. He (she) participates in IT projects and operational activities by providing leading edge and innovative solutions for the implementation of new practices or in a context of continuous improvement.

  • Plans, coordinates and carries out, in collaboration with the other business units of the Innovation and Technology Department, improvement initiatives related to its area of ​​expertise.

  • Coordinates the planning, development and implementation of mandates, projects or research. Continually monitor and direct related work to achieve goals.
  • Solve complex issues, innovate or modify existing processes to ensure delivery of project portfolio TI.
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with the City's major partners, as well as with institutions and organizations working together to implement mandates and projects to ensure alignment with practices corporate project management.
  • Participates in internal and external working groups and maintains exchange relations and cooperative contacts with private or public organizations for the exchange of information and data or to find a common service and solution base.
  • Documents and disseminates the best practices of its field of expertise (communication, training, coaching), according to the standards and model. Establishments within the Service.
  • Designs, develops and proposes projects related to directives, programs and procedures related to its area of ​​expertise and ensures compliance with them when approved by the Director of the Service.
  • Convene, lead or participate in meetings, discussions or meetings with employees of other divisions or departments of the City and / or representatives of outside agencies to review issues within their area of ​​responsibility. expertise and to find appropriate solutions.

The profile sought:

  • Undergraduate university degree in a subject relevant to the area of ​​expertise;
  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience;
  • Be constantly on the lookout for best practices related to the area of ​​expertise;
  • Have experience implementing methods and practices. project management tools;
  • Experience in setting up a project office;
  • Hold a disciplined Agile certification and / or experience, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other relevant AGILE method;
  • Possess skills in coaching, developing and disseminating training programs
  • PMP certification is an asset.
