With pan-Canadian activities and a presence in the U.S., the Group is an important player in numerous market segments.This role sits within LBC Tech, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.Reporting to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Data Warehouse, the incumbent is responsible for the development, testing and maintenance of the core Business Intelligence components of the bank's Enterprise Data Warehouse, including but not limited to; ad-hoc reports, data extracts, and analytic cubes. The current core BI components are based in IBM technology, and include IBM Cognos, IBM Data Manager and IBM Campaign Manager, but additional technologies may be incorporated in the future, including, but not limited to; MicroStrategy or other OLAP solutions.

Responsibilities

ºWork with the BI Team Lead to understand the BI Requirements for Reports, Data Extracts, Analytic Cubes, and DashboardsºComplete the development, testing and deployment of BI solutions, as assigned by the BICC Team Lead, including, but not limited to;oUpdate the functional specifications of the various developments and validate the results in cooperation with teammates and users. oDevelop and maintain any additional required documentation and reference structures (including business rules, best practices, methodologies, etc.) for all BI products for which the business unit is responsible. oDevelop and test the BI solutions as defined oSupport the implementation of the BI solution in productionºParticipate in the design and development of BI solutions for corporate initiatives, where requiredºEvaluate the data quality and accuracy of the BI products ºParticipate actively in deployment, post-implementation monitoring and development of all BI products and related projects. ºEnsure rigorous monitoring of development activities and solutions to ensure compliance with set deadlines and budgets. ºHelp support BI production activities when requiredºKeep updated on all existing and future Enterprise Data Warehouse structures, end-to-end processes and core technologies ºPerform all tasks of a similar or general nature requested by his or her superior or required for the job.

Qualifications

ºUniversity degree or diploma (or certification) in computer science, business intelligence, or related field, or equivalent work experience.º2 + years related experience in a similar role as a BI or OLAP Analyst / Developer. ºKnowledge, skills and experience working on EDW/BI projects and/or operational teams, within Oracle and/or SQL Server database environments. ºKnowledge, skills and experience with SQL, and writing SQL queries.ºKnowledge, skills and experience as an OLAP Developer, creating analytic cubes, reports and dashboards with IBM Cognos, or other OLAP tools.ºDemonstrated knowledge, skills and experience documenting BI functional and technical requirements. ºDemonstrated knowledge, skills and experience working with data sets, and performing data analysis.ºDynamic, autonomous/resourceful and focused on results. ºFocused on teamwork and collaboration. ºBilingual in English and French would be an asset.ºKnowledge and experience with SAS, and predictive modelling tools would be an asset. ºKnowledge of the banking industry would be an asset.
