NV-09Us. We are currently looking for a BI Developer possessing strong expertise in Cognos to join our Data Visualization Centre of Expertise. We are a dynamic, cross-functional team with a mission to develop, maintain and optimize data and analytics capabilities in support of all business lines. Our team works in agile mode and consists of functional analysts, front-end and back-end developers, BI-tool administrators, scrum masters and product owners.You. We might have the perfect professional opportunity for you!As a BI Developer, you will draw on your proficiency with technology to help develop medium- to large-scale solutions and applications, and then provide the required support. You will assist in analyzing client needs and establishing what direction the development process should take. To this end, you will plan, prioritize and coordinate work so as to deliver on the commitments made in line with the objectives. Your projects and initiatives will require in-depth expertise in your field of activity. You will assist in implementing development solutions or patches, for which the ability to manage complexity is critical. You will be required to interact with stakeholders working in complementary, technology-related fields. You will advise and assist our business partners and various stakeholders with regard to systems.

Additional responsibilities

  • Manage the Cognos platform
  • Participate in resolving incidents and issues by proposing solutions, developing action plans and assisting our business partners
  • Provide technical support to other developers on the team
  • Stay abreast of best development practices and ensure they are known and used by development teams
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing by writing articles in our knowledge base (Confluence, Yammer, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Four years of relevant experience

  • For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required  

Specific knowledge

  • Expertise in Cognos 11
  • Knowledge of Framework Manager modelling
  • Knowledge of Transformer cube modelling
  • Knowledge of creating reports (Report Studio, Analysis Studio and Active Reports)
  • Knowledge of creating dashboards
  • Knowledge of using CSS in Cognos
  • Knowledge of using JavaScript in reports
  • Expertise in data visualization best practices
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL Server, DB2, Oracle and SAS)
  • Knowledge of Citrix
  • Expertise with visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau Software and Google Analytics (an asset)
  • Knowledge of Java (an asset)
  • Knowledge of API (Rest) development (an asset)
